Find Your Flow: Flip the Script on Stress

An August invitation to move, breathe, and live differently.

August in South Africa marks Women’s Month — a time to honour the courage, resilience, and grace of women past and present. At Ananda Wellness, I see this as an opportunity to celebrate the feminine essence in all of us — an energy that flows through every gender, reminding us of our capacity to pause, receive, restore, and rise.

This month, our theme is:
Find Your Flow – Flip the Script on Stress.

It’s a soulful invitation to move from friction to freedom. To shift out of burnout and into balance. To stop pushing and start flowing.

I am drawing deep inspiration from the book, 7 Steps to Finding Flow by South African author and energy coach, Nicky Rowbotham, whose work offers us a compassionate yet empowering reminder:

“Burnout isn’t a badge of honour. Energy is our most precious currency. Flow is possible — but only if we pause and choose it.”

So many of us live in what Nicky calls an “invisible straitjacket of stress” — trapped by the weight of expectations, over-responsibility, and the relentless pressure to do more, be more, fix more.

We’re functioning but not flowing. Surviving, but not thriving.

Finding flow doesn’t mean a life without challenge. Instead, it means moving in alignment with your natural energy rhythms — responding to life with awareness, instead of reacting from depletion. It’s a state where your mind, body, and spirit are in sync. Where you feel spacious, steady, and present. Where you move with life, not against it.

This August, through our yoga practices, mindful breathwork, and shared reflections, we begin to loosen that straitjacket. We begin to soften into a rhythm that feels sustainable — one that honours both our strength and our softness.

We tune into the places where stress hides in the body and invite them to speak. We explore how to shift our energy gently, through breath, movement, intention, and deep listening. We learn that flow isn’t about doing more — it’s about being true to ourselves.

This is not just a Women’s Month theme. It’s a human theme. It’s about rewriting the story that says, “keep pushing” and choosing instead to ask, “What do I really need?”

May this month be a gentle rebellion. A sacred pause.
A return to your inner rhythm — and to your power to choose flow.

Love & Light, Lynnette
