Slowdown Saturday – Yin Yoga Immersion

Slowdown with me, Lynnette Gouws your host, owner, and Yoga Teacher of Ananda Wellness in this specially curated two hour gathering to find strength in softness and embrace the power of slowing down.

This Yin Yoga Immersion will give you the opportunity to let go of the daily stress and give yourself that much needed time to slow down to fill your own cup. Think of it as a morning of Self-Love you so deeply deserve!

 

What is Yin Yoga:

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that incorporates the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with poses that are held for longer periods of time than in other yoga styles. Yin Yoga postures are held to target the fascia (connective tissue) of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine as well as the connective tissues surrounding all the muscles and joints. Yin Yoga practice releases fascia and improves joint mobility, improves the flow of chi or prana, and promotes a greater increase of blood flow to nourish and rejuvenate the body and calm the mind. Yin Yoga is a mindful practice, we draw our attention inwards, connecting to and softening into the sensations within our body, while not allowing our mind to become attached to the sensations of discomfort.

  • Yin Yoga improves joint & ligament health — Deeper stretches in yin yoga can help to encourage better joint mobility and flexibility.
  • Yin Yoga encourages healthy connective tissue — Deep connective tissue is less elastic than muscular tissue and it can sometimes be a neglected part of our anatomy during regular fitness routines.
  • Yin Yoga brings balance to our bodies & lives — Daoist philosophy of Yin/Yang focuses on the balance of opposing forces. In a modern world of constant stimulation, yin yoga can deliver a little more ‘yin’ energy in a world of yang.
